With Bated Breath: October

October 1, 2014 by Heidi

Happy October!  It’s one of my favorite months of the year, not the least because it’s such a fantastic release month.  I’d be enjoying the crisp weather, scarves, and tights a bit more had I not managed to catch my first fall cold this week, but at least laying in bed and drinking lots of tea is the perfect combination with reading!  That said, I’ll be keeping this short.  Several of my most anticipated books of the year are coming out this month–Blue Lily, Lily Blue, Burn for Me–the start of a new Ilona Andrews series, and a Kingkiller Chronicles novella!!  Be still my heart.

What are your most anticipated October releases?

If you liked that you might like this:

  1. I adore the Fables series but have yet to pick up the Fairest spin-off. Need to get on that! I’m also incredibly excited for The Accidental Highwayman, Burn For Me and Blue Lily, Lily Blue. Looks to be an awesome month in new books. Hope you enjoy! :)

    • Heidi says:

Fairest isn’t as good as Fables, but it’s a decent spin-off and I like it more than some. Really interested to start hearing some reactions to The Accidental Highwayman!

  2. Flann says:

LOL, I just read Fairest, vol. 3 YESTERDAY and was patting myself on the back for keeping up with it in real time. Little did I know that there is already another one and I am still behind the times. Lame. I AM excited for a new Ilona Andrews series, though.

    • Heidi says:

Just brought Vol. 3 home from the library! I don’t like Fairest as much as Fables, but it’s a decent spin off. I’m SO excited for new Ilona Andrews series, particularly because I’ve heard good things thus far.

  3. Sandy says:

The only thing I am waiting for is Blue Lily, Lily Blue. All the other titles are afterthoughts, lol.

  4. Melanie says:

I only recently heard of Atlantia, but the more I hear, the better it sounds. And that cover!

    • Heidi says:

I’m really interested in this one! I never did get around to reading the last book in the Matched trilogy, but I enjoyed her writing.

      • Melanie says:

You know, I haven’t read the last Matched book either. I get it so mixed up with Delirium, another dystopian series I haven’t finished, I’m not sure I could keep it straight if I ever do.
