With Bated Breath: June New Releases

June 1, 2012 by Heidi

It’s that time of the month again!  No, I don’t mean that time of the month.  June has the release of some of the titles I’ve been most looking forward to this year including Redshirts, Shadows Cast by Stars, For Darkness Shows the Stars, and This Is Not a Test.  Yes, two of those titles are incredibly similar, but the books sound very different.  Check them out!

Title I’m most excited for that I’ve heard the least about? The Vendico!

Also very excited to see the end of the Fallen series, which I’ll admit has been a guilty pleasure of mine (yes, despite the fact that I hate the term guilty pleasure, I’m applying it because I am embarrassed).

What June releases are you most looking forward to?  This is by no means a comprehensive list, just books I personally want to check out, so feel free to let me know what I’ve overlooked!

  1. Ahh I want all of these books! Summer releases are the best! Also, I really liked Lies Beneath when I read it a few months back! Love this post, Heidi!

    • Heidi says:

I tried to read it, but just couldn’t get into it. I only made it like 30 pages. It was an unfortunate victim of my ‘YA slump’, so I set it aside with the thought that maybe I’d get back to it sometime. It didn’t seem poorly written or anything, just really not what I was into at the time.

  2. I have no idea what Silver is, but I want it so badly it hurts. Also, The Golden Flute looks awesome. (Who am I kidding? I’m a sucker for shiny things.)
Of course, I have yet to read This Is Not a Test: I didn’t manage to find the time for it yet, but I’m super excited about it.

Me too! I’m kind of attracted to the cover of Silver like a magnet. Part of me is all ‘ho hum’ werewolves at this point, but part of me really wants to hear good things so that I have an excuse to pick it up.

I was hoping to get to This Is Not a Test this week, but I’ve been completely failing on the reading front, and have only read about 150 in the last week.
