I’m starting out the month reading Lilith Saintcrow’s “The Iron Wyrm Affair.” It’s a steampunk mystery that’s got a bit of a Sherlock Holmes influence, and so far I’m enjoying it.
“Splendors & Grooms” is on my to-read list for this month.
Oooh, interested to hear what you think of The Iron Wyrm Affair. I’m always hesitant of steampunk because I feel like so much of it fails, but when it works, it WORKS.
Holy cripes, soooo many good books coming out this money! My wallet may be a little lighter after this month… Thanks for sharing! Found some new good ones in there as well
Glad you found some new ones! And yeah, there’s a few MUST reads for me this month, topped with a lot I’d really like to read…so it’s going to be buy the most necessary, hope to find the rest at the library for me. =)
Ooo, so awesome. I usually don’t do romance novels but I like Eloisa James and I will try out this one simply because it seems awesomelike. And several other titles weren’t even on my radar but now they are, thanks to you!
I haven’t read Eloisa James yet, but she had a couple of books at BEA which I read about (but didn’t have the chance to pick up) which got me interested.
Glad you found some new ones for your radar, Nafiza!
First, look at your pretty little picture!! Second, why do I want all of these books? There are seriously so many and I am a little overwhelmed. I need Girl of Nightmares and The Black Isle pronto. Touched also looks pretty nifty!! I could go on and on so let’s just stop there
Touched DOES look good. It’s one of those I had to restrain myself from requesting when it was on NetGalley, but if I hear good things I’ll be tracking it down! Hopefully I’ll get to Girl of Nightmares in the next week, and as soon as I’m done I’ll send it your way!
Why did you have to remind me? I just bought like a zillion more books and my TBR SHELVES HAVE STARTED TO SAG. But I must have (OR DIE) Girl of Nightmares and The Ugly Duchess. I just adore Eloisa James.
….and I want all of those other books as well.
I haven’t read any Eloisa James, but I think I might really like her! I need to try one of them. And yeah, I know, it’s terrible. My TBR is out of control.
I LOVE these posts, so many books on here that are new to me! I’m probably most excited for UnWholly and The Cavendish Home for Girls and Boys, but thank you for the heads up on Liar and Spy, The Wednesdays, The Black Isle, The Corpse-Rat King and Under My Hat (Peter Beagle! He’s still around? AWESOME!)
I had the same thought about Peter S. Beagle! Lol, we’re terrible. I haven’t read Unwind yet, but I really need to get on it already.
So many amazing titles this month, I don’t even know where to start. But Touched by Cyn Balog is definitely not worth your time, trust me on that one.
Fellow Kate Daniels fan, are you reading Gunmetal Magic anytime soon? I finished last night, absolutely loved it and reviewed right away. Go read so we can compare notes.
Good to know you vote down Touched, that makes me feel good about not having requested it.
I JUST finished Magic Slays last night, so I’m all caught up and ready for Gunmetal Magic! I’m trying to resist buying it right away because I have a stack of borrowed books I need to get through, but we’ll see how long that resolve lasts. I need to read your review!
I hadn’t heard of The Wednesdays, but I’m feeling the cover so I’ll definitely be checking that on on Goodreads.
I’m glad you put the trailer for Narc up here. I have no intentions of reading the book, but that was a pretty fantastic trailer!
The Kill Order! GFHEAIUGDSV 3T8HJGEWAFHVN,RGH9!!! I love the Maze Runner series and I’m really interested to see the “before” story of it all.
Enshadowed makes me want to key smash all over again
I haven’t really heard anything about Erasing Time, but I’m looking forward to that one as well :]
The Wednesdays looks like a fun MG! Isn’t the trailer for Narc fantastic? I love it. Best trailer of the month, for sure.
I love Maze Runner too, but I’m still not sure how I feel about The Kill Order. I’m not desperately excited for it. Maybe because I was a bit let down by the final book in the trilogy? Going to wait to see reviews before I pick it up.
Wow, looks like a lot of good books out this month! Most of these I’ve never heard of so I think I’ll be spending some time adding these to Goodreads!
I have 12 of these on my TBR! Ahhhh. August is going to be a busy month, but nothing compared to September, ha ha.
Oh goodness, I know! My piles for September and October are absolutely ridiculous!
