YAck Attack! The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley
5October 10, 2013 by Heidi
I did it! I finally read my first Robin McKinley! And you know what folks? I adored it. I was mighty nervous going in as I know a fair number of readers who have failed to be swept away by this woman’s prose, but luckily, swept I was. I fell in love with Harry Crewe, all of her world, and the people in it. Now I’d be downright shocked if I didn’t pick up my copy of Sunshine before the month’s end–especially now that I’m reading most voraciously again!
The Blue Sword was our most recent pick for the YAckers book club, and while most of us ate it up and sang its praises (heck, for most of us it was a reread), don’t worry if you just don’t get into it–you’re not alone. Go see our thoughts!

Oh, SUNSHINE is the best October book EVER, Heidi.
I’m with Angie — you have to read SUNSHINE to celebrate Halloween!
I haven’t read a Robin McKinley book either but Sunshine is totally on my TBR because that sounds freaking fantastic. Might have to check out The Blue Sword too even though I don’t read too much fantasy. Glad you enjoyed it!
So happy you finally picked one up! This has always been one of my favorites by her <3<3
Yay! So happy to hear you loved your first McKinley. My first one was Sunshine, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope you love it when you read it too. Now I need to read The Blue Sword, I can’t believe I haven’t yet!
