Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d play hooky with.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weakly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  They love lists as much as I do, so it’s only fair to tip my hat.

This week it’s spring fever!  So let’s talk about those books you just can’t stand to put down.  Those books so good you would consider (or even would) calling in sick to stay home and read.  Or at least shirk some duties like cleaning the dishes in the sink and filling out your tax returns for…The following are all books I’m either dying to pick up, or couldn’t put down.  The books I’ll read in one sitting without realizing how many hours have passed.  Which, of course, makes them some of my favorites of all time, or some of my most anticipated reads (clicky for GoodReads):

  4. Harry Potter! I still need to read the last 3 books. I know, I feel like I've committed a crime. I'm enjoying the audio books so I can finally get to those last 3 books. Can't wait!

I agree with so much of this list! Lots of books I can't wait to get my hands on (and then not put down until I'm done!) I really hope you enjoy The Name of the Wind – I ended up addicted to those and can't wait for the next one – and The Hunger Games is amazing too – especially now that the movie has come out! Great list! Tara @ Hey, Tara

I agree with every one of these choices. I need to read The Name of The Wind ASAP, I have heard amazing things. Also dying for Blood and Starlight and Dark Triumph!

  7. KVOTHE FOREVA! I love love love x1000 The Name of The Wind and Patrick Rothfuss and his bombass beard. LOVE LOVE LOVE.Sigh.So much love in this comment.

  8. Oh dear, The Name of the Wind is on my list. I'm with April (BooksandWine) who coincidentally is the one who suggested The Name of the Wind to me. I am utterly, head-over-heels in love with Kvothe (so far) and the reader in the audiobook, Nick Podehl. My heart goes pitter patter with ever word, but it is because of the reader and the writer, I promise!! Haha. I am dying to read Scarlet. Actually, both Scarlets. 😉

  9. Nice list! I'm in for any of the Harry Potters, too.

  10. Our library copy of Spell Bound just came in today, I can't wait to show it to the kids. And I hope to finish Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire soon, and start the Megan McCafferty books. Now I want to play hooky and read! Good thing it's spring break next week :)

I desperately need to read the Jessica Darling series. And Cinder. I'm a little behind at the moment 😛
