June 30, 2012 by Heidi
Ack! You guys, today is the LAST day of June, meaning that this year is halfway over. I can hardly believe it. You never really believe that whole ‘time passes faster as you get older’ thing until it starts happening to you, but listen up youngsters because it is true! That also means that half of the 2012 releases have released, and I’ve been able to consume a lively portion of them.
If I had to pick my Top 10 of 2012 today here’s what it would look like (though in no particular order, because I’m not torturing myself that much this early in the year!): Click each cover for my review, accept for The Mighty Miss Malone, which has not been written posted yet.
Lots of dark covers this year, right? I mean…there’s two there with blood splatter! I’m also quite proud of myself for having some contemporary on this list, right alongside some fantastic historical fiction, fantasy, and sci fi. All in all, it’s shaping up to be a wonderful reading year! I did have to struggle a little with which book was going to get the last spot (sorry Grave Mercy), so I know I’m up for a tough challenge come year’s end. Hopefully the second half of the year will be just as strong! I want to know, what books of 2012 have been your favorites thus far?
Also, for bonus points (your prize is my love and friendship), what non-2012 reads have you read this year that you have loved? Here are some that have made their way onto my all time favorites shelf (again, click cover for my review, other than Daughter of the Forest which has not yet been posted):
2012 has been a tough year for me in the real world, but having had the opportunity in the past six months to become part of such a lovely blogging community has been the highlight of my year. If it wasn’t for all of you I wouldn’t be reading so much, spouting my thoughts out in some semblance of order, and enjoying so many amazing books I might otherwise never have picked up. So thank you guys! Please let me know how 2012 is shaping up for you. Have I missed any reads I simply must get to before the year is out?
